Nonstandard Alternate Minimums
Alternate airport weather minimums published for an approach procedure in place of the standard 600-2 and 800-2 values. On an FAA approach chart, a triangle containing the letter A in the notes means the alternate minimums are not standard, and civil pilots find them in the IFR Alternate Airport Minimums section of the Terminal Procedures Publication. The same symbol followed by NA means alternate minimums are not authorized for that procedure, for example because a facility is unmonitored or the airport has no weather reporting. Under 14 CFR 91.169(c), the alternate minimums specified in a procedure apply; the standard values apply only when none are specified.
