Rotary Wing Mission Training Rehearsal & The Role of Flight Simulation

Abstract submission deadline: 16 January 2012
Quote ref: 679
Civilian helicopter crews are increasingly required to perform a wide variety of missions, such as search and rescue, HEMS, and air policing, in complex, unpredictable, and demanding environments, involving other agencies and other surface and air platforms. Live training for the situations and emergencies they face is constrained by a number of factors, but flight simulation increasingly provides the capability to train for such conditions, and to integrate front and rear crew training into a genuine team training regime.
The Conference will therefore evaluate the requirements for civilian helicopter mission training profiles in the light of experience of recent accidents and incidents where more extensive training might have averted disaster.

Flight Simulation Research - New Frontiers
Abstract submission deadline: 20 April 2012
Quote ref: 690
The Royal Aeronautical Society Flight Simulation Group leads many international initiatives and, with new developments in aerospace in air traffic management, synthetic environments, sensor technologies and accident prevention, this conference is timely, providing a forum for flight simulation experts to learn of developments in other areas.

The conference will provide an opportunity for experts in sectors outside flight simulation to contribute new papers on simulation and to learn about current technologies in addition to problems in flight simulation requiring novel solutions. The conference seeks papers from simulation experts from other sectors including aircraft design, aerodynamics, automotive industries, biology, medicine and human factors.
