Hi,
first, congratulations for getting your commercial pilot license. :fly:

A cover letter that you write for the airlines does not have to be much different than a cover letter that acompanies your resume for any other kind of job.
I would start by shortly introducing myself and provide a brief description of my aviation background. Tell them how you heared of them and why you are interested in the job with that specific company.

Good luck with the job hunting. It is very though right now as the airline industry is strugling with the rising costs of fuel. Where are you from by the way?

Yes, i agree with "jet's answer", Cover letter would be same wherever you apply whether you are applying for a Airline job or a software company job.

There are 3 important things

cover letter helps the receiver to get the first hand impression from employer, it acts as a marketing tool for attached resume/cv

Cover letter must be addressed to an individual by name.
write purpose of cover letter.
check typo carefully.

--Good luck---
Syed.
