J-1 visa for foreign flight students - the end?

Postby guset on Sat Jul 19, 2008 4:04 pm GMT

The state department decided to stop issuing j-1 foreign exchange visas to flight students starting 2010. The program allowed foreign students to come over to the united states for flight training and then gain experience working as flight instructors for the remaining period of the maximum 2 years that the visa is issued for.

They don't understand that many of these flight schools depend on foreign students to survive. Thats were most of their business comes from. The will just go bankrupt or significantly reduce in size, providing LESS jobs to Americans, without the J1 students.
