distance to start the descent

distance for begining of descent=
ground speed/60 X altitude difference/fpm
example:
a pilot plans to descent from 8000ft to a 1000ft airport, the ground speed is 120 knots, and he wants to use 500 fpm:
120/60 x 7000/500 = 2 X 14 = 28 NM
